And a quick thanks to all the people who followed us to both shows you know who you are, and to all those who took to dancing your asses off at both venues, well done. I’ll be posting some sneak peek video clips in the next couple weeks.
Electricity in the Air
Posted by Dr. Funkinchunkin | Filed under Events
I woke up this morning and could smell a distinct electricity in the air, I’ve smelt this before right before i folded through dimensions. Which tells me a few things. I’m about to take a journey to a place where reality and fantasy become entwined. A place where its easy to lose your mind. I’m sure that on my way there i’ll run into that mischievous Mr. Sofalumpkins. He likes to give me the full tour so to speak. When we fold dimensions like this sometimes we end up in the strangest places. With even stranger people… Getting used to all this madness has taken some time, but im not about to go and lose my mind. When we come out the other side, I’ll take all that i have learned and apply it to the show.
” Major Breakthrough ”
Posted by Dr. Funkinchunkin | Filed under Events
After a solid week of brainstorming we have made a major breakthrough in our control surface setup. I won’t go into the techy details but to make a long story short we might finally be able to sync both the computers together, where as before we were clocking them separately. This breakthrough will give us even more control over live edits and the glitch engine. Therefore making our ” Dreams come true” . More testing is needed before we unleash it, however we think Halloween is the projected launch date. Provided everything checks out and there’s no bugs in it. I can’t wait to hear what this thing can do! Exciting times indeed.

First i’d like to start by thanking everyone for letting us conduct our experiment on them. The reactions have been overwelming and very positive. Thanks to Crippled Wheel Pete, for driving us around to check out the local thai place and making sure we were well taken care of. Jeff Galaxy for booking us for one of the coolest 3 day festivals on the prairies. To all the people at our Campsite who kept us laughing ” You know who you are” Uhmm Chris, Andy and the rest of yas. We felt a part of the tribe and will be back soon to have more good times with really good people.
Cheers,

Subject test results from SOUNDWAVE.
Posted by Dr. Funkinchunkin | Filed under Events
Well I must say that the subjects at Soundwave music festival were quite consumed by the barrage of sub sonic sounds. The intro eased them into an absolute frenzy of dancing and flailing arms and legs around. The stage was packed, people as far as the eye could see. And, oh yes, we totally destroyed the dancefloor! No we really destroyed the dancefloor, it resembled a mud wrestling ring, with some spectators almost knee deep in mud. But because we had them in our mind control no one seemed to notice until the set was finished. We view Soundwave as a great success, and remain confident that the Connect festival in Saskatchewan will have the same result. For more info on the Connect festival go to www.connectfestival.ca .
Mr. Sofalumpkins returns
Posted by Dr. Funkinchunkin | Filed under Events
After my morning coffee and clearing the fog from my head, i made my way to the laboratory. And who was sitting in my chair with a large mischievous grin on his face, Mr. Sofalumpkins. ” Ready?” he asked me. I wondered if he might be a little upset about the mind extraction. After a few awkward moments he laughed and we continued on with work in the lab. With Soundwave only 2 days away we have alot of work to do. However i remain confident our performance will leave the test subjects at Soundwave in awe. Then after a slight break we’ll be unleashing ” The Masquerade” on test subjects @ Connect festival near Regina in Saskatchewan. I’m crawling with anticipation.
Results from Mr. Sofalumpkins mind extraction

Well I must admit I held Mr. Sofalumpkins in our Dimension a little longer than I had first projected. 7 days turned into 9 but he didn’t seem to mind at all. Though I witnessed a couple times smoke pouring from the sides of his head, as if his brain might explode. Thankfully it didn’t. The results out of the Funkinchunkinator have taught me alot about manipulating and bending sounds on the fly. It’s starting to feel like there may be limitless combinations. I must say I can’t wait to unleash this new form of live PA on the test subjects at Soundwave. Until Mr. Sofalumpkins returns I’ll be in the lab fine tuning my pads, knobs, and faders.

Lab Time
Posted by Dr. Funkinchunkin | Filed under Events
Just slipping on the old labcoat having a morning coffee then its straight to the crystalizer from sound toys. Trying to wrap your head around it is like trying to hike Mt Everest in a day. HoweverIi’ll give it my best shot. Mr. Sofalumpkins is making the trans dimensional jump this afternoon. When he arrives I plan to temporarily trap him in the lab, for one week only, hey it’s not like he doesn’t like it! I’m merely collecting information for scientific and melodic purposes. Once the information is collected I’ll run it through the Funkinchunkinator for further analysis, and then release Mr. Sofalumpkins back to his dimension unscathed. Once I have mastered the crystalizer no sample will be safe!
Thanks,

Just a quick little thanks needs to go out to all those hard working people who helped get our site off the ground and make our dream a reality. Our website designer James for putting all theses pieces together, our costume designers the girls from Kismet, Melissa and Dedre truly masters at their craft. Also Andrew Todd Photography for the gold mine of awesome press shots, we had a lot of fun doing the shoot. And of course Mr. Sofalumpkins for the inspiration as well as countless hours in the studio. Once again thank you, it was an absolute pleasure working with you all.
The Dr. Is In!

I have arrived, several chemical compounds a large jolt of electrical current and “BANG” I was created. Since my introduction into this dimension I‘ve dissected and disassembled many a synth to better understand how they work and what theyre made of. My favorites have been Massive and the Korg Kaoss Pad. Mr Sofalumpkins and I are working hard in the lab to finish our Demo of the “Masquerade” for our website www.Geniuskills.com and www.soundwavemusicfestival.ca . Soundwave will be the official launch of this spectacular show. A show that shouldnt be missed! Two entities on 5 control surfaces, a dueling live PA. Don’t miss it!
